Metro Atlanta: a year-round service market with no real slow season
In short: Atlanta's heating and cooling demand is almost evenly split, so HVAC calls come in winter and summer alike, and freezes like December 2022 burst pipes across the metro. If your team misses a business-hours call and the caller waits past 20 seconds, Google can bill it. KeptRing answers so you don't lose the job too.
Areas include Atlanta, Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell, Decatur, Smyrna, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody.
Why Atlanta is different from the Sun Belt stereotype
Phoenix and Houston are cooling markets. Atlanta is both. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for Hartsfield-Jackson show about 2,531 heating degree days and 2,051 cooling degree days a year, with about 47 days at 90°F or above and about 36 nights at or below freezing (NOAA). That means heat pump and furnace calls in January, AC calls in July, and no long lull in between.
MB Adv Agency names Atlanta among the dual-season markets that "never have a true off-peak period" for HVAC advertising (MB Adv). For a shop on Local Services Ads, that means steady lead spend all year, and a steady stream of calls that can land while the crew is busy.
The plumbing side: rain and the occasional deep freeze
Atlanta gets about 50 inches of rain a year (NOAA), and drainage, sewer, and water-heater calls follow. The bigger shock is a rare hard freeze. During the late-December 2022 Arctic blast, burst pipes flooded homes, apartments, and businesses across metro Atlanta over the Christmas weekend (FOX 5 Atlanta). Pipes in crawlspaces and exterior walls are exposed, so one cold snap can bring a week of calls.
What Atlanta leads cost, honestly
We didn't find a published Georgia or Atlanta Local Services Ads price from a dataset we trust, and Georgia wasn't called out in SearchLight's March 2026 state cut. National averages:
| Trade | Feb. 2026 cost per lead | Mar. 2026 cost per unique lead |
|---|---|---|
| HVAC | $51 | $56.39 |
| Plumbing | $57 | $58.89 |
| Electrical | $39 | $43.84 |
Look up your own number on the Leads page in Google Ads. Then count how many business-hours calls went to voicemail last week. Under Google's current rules, a call you miss during your business hours is a chargeable lead once the caller stays on the line for more than 20 seconds, and a business-hours voicemail or automated greeting is "treated as a connected call" (Google Local Services Help).
How KeptRing fits an Atlanta shop
- Overflow while you're on jobs. Calls you don't pick up within a few rings forward to KeptRing. Your number and your Google LSA setup stay the same.
- After hours. Evening and weekend calls get answered, with urgent ones marked: no heat with a freeze coming, water coming through a ceiling.
- An email for every call. Name, callback number, address, the problem, urgency, and the time window they'd like.
- No surprises for callers. Every call opens with your company name and a plain statement that it's an automated assistant and the call may be recorded.
If a caller reports gas, CO, or sparks
Atlanta Gas Light runs the gas lines in metro Atlanta, whichever marketer sends your bill. KeptRing tells callers who smell gas to leave right away and, once safely outside, call 911 and Atlanta Gas Light's 24-hour emergency line at 877-427-4321.
A carbon monoxide alarm gets the same instruction: everyone out, then call 911 from outside. For sparking, a burning smell, or anyone hurt, callers are told to get to safety and call 911. KeptRing gives no repair steps on these calls and flags them urgent in your summary. KeptRing is not an emergency service and doesn't replace 911, the utility, or your own on-call line.
