KeptRing SMS program
How KeptRing's text messages work: who gets them, how people opt in, what the messages say, and how to stop them.
Status: KeptRing texting is not live yet. US carriers require business texting to be registered (A2P 10DLC or toll-free verification) first. This page describes the program as it will run once registration is approved. Until then, lead summaries go to contractors by email, the contractor's office follows up with callers, and no texts are sent.
Program description
Program name: KeptRing lead alerts and caller text-back. KeptRing is an AI phone answering service for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors. The program has two kinds of messages, and both are about a specific service request or account. We never send marketing or promotional texts.
- Caller text-back: a caller who phones a contractor that uses KeptRing, and who says yes when asked during the call, gets a text confirming their service request. It's sent in the name of the business they called.
- Contractor lead alerts: contractors who opt in get texts about new leads and account notices.
How callers opt in (verbally, on the call)
Callers opt in out loud during the phone call. Near the end of the call, after taking the caller's details, the AI receptionist asks:
"Would you like me to text you a confirmation of this request from Summit Heating & Plumbing? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime."
Example using our fictional demo business; each contractor's own business name is used on their line
A text is sent only if the caller clearly says yes. If they say no, don't answer, or aren't sure, no text is sent. Every call starts by telling the caller they're speaking with an automated assistant and that the call may be recorded. The call recording and transcript serve as the record of consent. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying any goods or services.
How contractors opt in (signup form)
Contractors opt in on the KeptRing signup or onboarding form with a checkbox that starts unchecked and is separate from agreeing to the Terms:
"☐ Text me new-lead alerts and account notices from KeptRing at the mobile number above. Msg frequency varies; msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent isn't required to buy. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms."
Sample messages
Examples below use our fictional demo business, Summit Heating & Plumbing.
- Caller confirmation (first message): "Summit Heating & Plumbing: Thanks, we got your request for a furnace that won't start and will call you back soon. Msg freq varies, msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- Contractor lead alert: "KeptRing: New lead for Summit Heating & Plumbing. Jane D., no heat since last night, ZIP 46220, prefers this afternoon. Full summary sent to your email. Reply STOP to opt out."
- HELP reply: "Summit Heating & Plumbing texts via KeptRing. Help: tom@keptring.com. Reply STOP to opt out."
- STOP reply: "Summit Heating & Plumbing: You're unsubscribed and won't get more texts. Reply START to resubscribe."
Message frequency and cost
- Message frequency varies. Callers typically receive 1–3 messages per service request. Contractor lead alerts depend on how many calls KeptRing answers for you.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
STOP and HELP
- To opt out: reply STOP (or END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, or STOPALL) to any message. You'll get one confirmation and no more messages unless you opt in again.
- For help: reply HELP, or email tom@keptring.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates, except the telecommunications carriers and messaging providers that deliver our texts, and only to deliver them. Read the full Privacy Policy and the SMS program terms in Section 7 of our Terms of Service.
