Insulation · Google LSA category: Home insulation (California and Florida only)Insulation contractor answering service: the estimate request shouldn't go to voicemail
In short: Insulation crews spend the day in attics and crawl spaces, so estimate calls go to voicemail. KeptRing answers the calls you miss, takes the project details, and emails you each lead. We haven't found a verified published lead-cost figure for insulation, so this page doesn't quote one.
Insulation on Google Local Services Ads
Google's U.S. category list includes "Home insulation" only in California and Florida (Google). If you advertise there, Google's missed-call rule applies to your leads like any other category. Google's "How leads work" page says a valid lead can be generated when "you missed a phone call during your business hours and the customer stays on the line for more than 20 seconds," and that a business-hours call answered by voicemail or a greeting "is treated as a connected call." The page applies to Local Services Ads generally and lists no exception for this category.
Outside those states, KeptRing still answers the calls you miss from your website, Google Business Profile, and other ads the same way. We haven't found a verified published cost-per-lead benchmark for insulation, so we don't quote one.
The insulation calls that go to voicemail
- Attic top-ups and blown-in estimates from homeowners comparing two or three companies.
- Spray foam for new construction, additions, and pole barns, often from builders on a schedule.
- Follow-ups after an energy audit, when the homeowner has a report in hand.
- Crawl space and rim joist work, sometimes tied to moisture or pest problems.
What KeptRing asks an insulation caller
What's the project?
Attic, walls, crawl space, spray foam, removal, or new construction.
Home or business, new build or existing?
Builders and homeowners get tagged so the right person calls back.
Size and access, if they know
Rough square footage or number of rooms, and whether the attic is accessible.
Do they have an energy audit or a deadline?
Inspection dates, closings, and build schedules are noted.
Address, callback number, and a good time for an estimate
It takes a preferred window and never promises a time.
What it won't do
- Quote prices or R-values.
- Advise on rebates, tax credits, or financing.
- Book into your calendar.
- Claim to be a person.
Our public demo line plays a fictional heating and plumbing company. Your line gets a script written for your trade, and you hear and approve it before anything goes live. 14-day free trial (250 minutes; answering pauses if you use them all), then $249/month per line if you keep it ($197/month locked in for our first 10 paying clients). Card at signup, nothing charged for 14 days, month-to-month, cancel online anytime. Lead summaries arrive by email after each answered call. Texting isn't live yet; after carrier registration is approved, only callers who say yes on the call will get a text.
Questions insulation contractor owners ask about KeptRing
Does KeptRing tell my callers it's an AI?
Yes. Every call opens with your company name, a plain statement that it's a virtual assistant, and that the call may be recorded. It never claims to be a person.
Does it quote prices, diagnose problems, or book appointments?
No. It doesn't quote prices, diagnose anything, give repair steps, or promise arrival times, and it doesn't write into your calendar or scheduling software. It takes the caller's name, callback number, service address, the problem, how urgent it is, and when they'd like someone out, then emails you the lead.
What happens on an emergency call?
For a gas smell or CO alarm, it tells the caller to leave the building and call 911 or the gas utility from outside, with no troubleshooting. For sparking, downed lines, fire, or anyone hurt, it tells them to get to safety and call 911. Urgent calls are marked urgent in your lead email. KeptRing is not an emergency service and can't transfer calls or ring your phone during a call yet.
Does it answer after hours?
Only if you choose. By default KeptRing answers the calls you miss during business hours. After-hours answering is opt-in, because Google may charge for after-hours calls that get answered. See after-hours answering.
What does it cost?
$249/month per business phone line after a 14-day free trial, or $197/month for our first 10 paying clients. Each line includes 500 answered minutes per billing period, and extra answered minutes are 25¢ each. Month-to-month, cancel anytime. See pricing.
