# KeptRing

> KeptRing is a done-for-you AI phone answering service for US home-service contractors (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), built for shops that buy Google Local Services Ads. It answers overflow and after-hours calls, says up front that it is an automated assistant and that the call may be recorded, captures job details, and emails the contractor a lead summary after each call. Price: $197 per month per business phone line after a free 14-day pilot; month-to-month, cancel anytime. Based in Indiana, USA. Not affiliated with Google.

Key facts:
- Why it matters: per Google Local Services Help ("How leads work"), a missed call during business hours is a valid lead when the caller stays on the line more than 20 seconds, and a business-hours voicemail or greeting is treated as a connected call. Search Engine Land reported this took effect Oct. 1, 2026.
- KeptRing does NOT lower Google's lead charges. Answered calls are judged under Google's normal rules. KeptRing makes sure calls the contractor is already paying for get answered.
- Lead summaries are delivered by email today. Text alerts and text-back to callers are NOT live yet; they turn on after US carrier (A2P 10DLC) registration is approved.
- Safety: for gas, CO, fire, or injury calls it tells callers to get to safety and call 911 or the gas utility, and gives no repair instructions. KeptRing is not an emergency service and does not replace 911 or a contractor's own emergency line.
- KeptRing answers inbound calls only. It makes no outbound AI calls, never claims to be human, never quotes prices, and never logs into the contractor's Google account.
